Community Outreach

By packing and distributing hundreds of seeds in Make-Your-Own-Rain-Garden kits we hope to spread the importance of learning and caring for a regions native plant species. Along with the seed kits we feature a complete guide to surveying, planting and maintaining the rain gardens as well as informational videos to help educators and students to receive the full benefit of the learning.

In addition, we offer lesson plans with activities to help guide educators and teach students about important environmental issues.

Along side our educational campaign, we hope to increase general knowledge of rain gardens and their benefits by reaching out into our community via social networking. Find Team NEON through many of our outreach campaigns!

We are currently contacting senators and congressman in hopes of obtaining support for our plan. If you are interested in helping please view our Legislative Letter outlines below. Simply fill in the blanks and place in a stamped & addressed envelope, then lastly mail it!

In addition we have sent letters to Senator Claire McCaskill, Governor Jay Nixon, and President Barack Obama.

We presented to the Missouri Conservation Society in hopes of obtaining support and possibly taking up our project for years to come.
